Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds

Virtual worlds are created with the booming technology invented today. Games are one of hte more popular forms of virtual words; however, virtual worlds that exist for the purpose of rehabilitation purposes, business purposes, etc. are being invented as well. Minecraft, an immensely popular game is a virtual version of Legos. Children are very creative with the game, building structures designed with imagination. This creativity can be particularly useful when the children grows up, with creativity evolving into engineering.

Virtual worlds, as argued by Forbes editor Diane Mehta, can allow people to be more truly connected, compared to outside of the virtual world. People can be easily isolated in today's world and virtual worlds allow people to be "isolated together". On the other hand, virtual worlds still not "real", which can take away the user's actual experience in the "real" world. It can become a cycle of disconnect from reality leads to increase usage of virtual world which leads to even more disconnect from reality.

Virtual worlds probably won't be called virtual any longer. Virtual and reality may become so similar that one can't really tell the difference between the two. There will probably be a new term for a "virtual world".
